Exclamatory Sentences

इस प्रकार के वाक्यों में खुशी (Joy), दुख (Sorrow) और आश्चर्य (surprise) देखने को मिलता है।

Direct से Indirect बनाते के नियम:- 

1. चूंकि इन वाक्यों के भाव Reporting verb से ही स्पष्ट हो जाते है इसलिए Interjunctions को समाप्त कर देते है।

Interjunction:- Hurrah से Joy, Alas से Sorrow, How से surprise तथा bravo से approvel प्रकट होता है।

2. Inverted commas (") को that में बदलते है।

3. Note of Exclamation (❗) के स्थान पर full stop (.) का प्रयोग करते है।

4. Person और Tense का परिवर्तन Assertive वाक्य की तरह होता है।

5. Reporting Verb 'said' के स्थान पर परिवर्तन निम्न प्रकार से होते है:- 

i. यदि प्रसन्नता प्रकट की गई है, तो exclaimed with joy या exclaimed with delight का प्रयोग करते है।

Ex:- Dct- He said, "Hurrah ! I Have passed the examination."

Ind:- He exclaimed with delight that he had passed the examination.

ii. यदि शोक प्रकट किया हो, तो exclaimed with Sorrow या exclamied with grief का प्रयोग करते है।

Ex:- Dct- The student said, "Alas ! My friend is dead."

Ind:- The student exclaimed with sorrow that his friend was dead.

iii. यदि प्रशंसा की गई है, तो Praised या applauded का प्रयोग करते है।

Ex:- Dct- The soldiers sais, "Bravo ! We have won."

Ind- The soldiers applauded they had won.

iv. What a या How से अधिकता प्रकट होती है इसलिए इनके स्थान पर very या great का प्रयोग करते है।

Note:- यदि what a या how के बाद noun आए तो उसे great से बदलते है यदि Adjective आए तो उसे very में बदलते है तथा Reporting Verb 'said 'said' को exclaimed में बदलते है।

Ex:- Dct- The child said, "How beautiful the flower is !"

Ind:- The child exclaimed that the flower was very beautiful.

Dct:- The master said, "What a lazy fellow you are !"

Ind:- The master exclaimed that I was very lazy fellow.

V. यदि वाक्य में good Heavens का प्रयोग हो तो Reporting Verb को exclaimed with surprise में बदल देते है।

Ex:- Dct- The old man said, "Good Heavens ! The hut has cut fire."

Ind:- The old man exclaimed with surprise that the hut had caught fire.

Key Points:-

1. कभी कभी वाक्यो में Reporting Verb नही दी जाती है इस स्थिति में Reporting Verb (told, asked, requested, ordered) का प्रयोग भाव के अनुसार करना चाहिए।

2. जब Reporting Verb ना दी हो तो उसे Past tense में बनाते हैं।
